Technical delivery partner

Senior delivery capacity that can take ownership and run with the work.

Add an experienced product engineer to a software company or consultancy when the work is real, the deadline matters and the existing team does not have enough senior capacity available.

When a technical delivery partner fits

This model is for a software company, product team or consultancy with committed work and insufficient senior capacity to deliver it confidently. LCR joins for a defined project, workstream or period and takes responsibility for an agreed outcome inside the existing delivery environment.

An established non-software business with a continuing product backlog will usually be better served by ongoing product engineering.

Buy autonomous capacity with a clear delivery boundary

The engagement starts by defining what LCR owns, which decisions remain with the partner, what acceptance looks like and where dependencies sit. That may include architecture, implementation, integrations, technical communication, verification and release for the assigned scope.

The aim is to make useful senior capacity available quickly while keeping responsibility visible. It is not an unlimited queue of unrelated requests.

Fit into the team without blurring accountability

Before work begins, agree the repository, environments, communication rhythm, review rules, release authority and client-facing role. LCR can work directly with the end client or behind a delivery partner, provided the arrangement is transparent to the people responsible for the outcome.

Existing technical standards and constraints are reviewed rather than silently replaced. Material risks or disagreements are raised early enough for the accountable team to decide.

Capacity, support and authority stay explicit

Agree the available capacity, expected overlap with the team, decision authority, support period and response expectations. A delivery partnership does not automatically include after-hours support, ownership of unrelated systems or responsibility for dependencies controlled by another supplier.

Review selected LCR delivery evidence and the founder-led working approach before deciding whether the model fits.

Start with the workstream, not a generic role description

Share the committed outcome, current team shape, technical environment, important dates and the decisions the delivery partner must be able to make. LCR can then propose a suitable boundary and starting period without presenting an unvalidated long-term package as the only option.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is this staff augmentation?

The commercial shape may use reserved capacity, but the delivery expectation is autonomous senior ownership of an agreed project or workstream rather than a stream of unprioritised coding tasks.

Can LCR work under a partner's process and brand?

Yes, when repository access, communication, review, client-facing responsibility and confidentiality are agreed before delivery begins.

Can the engagement cover an entire project?

Yes, if the outcome, authority, dependencies and acceptance path are clear. Larger programmes may instead need LCR to own one bounded workstream alongside other teams.

Discuss delivery capacity

Share the workstream, timing and team context.

LCR will help define a boundary that gives the existing team useful capacity without creating another management problem.
